Arsalan holds a degree in spacecraft engineering from Southampton University and an MSc in computer science from Imperial College London. 

Arsalan enjoys climbing and hiking. In his free time, Arsalan preaches veganism.

At Deep Render, Chri is most noteworthy for what some might call extraordinary luck. His "talent" turns even the most questionable decisions into strokes of genius. Before Deep Render, Chri embarked on an international quest for knowledge, with stops at UC Berkeley, Imperial College London, St. Gallen, and Goethe University, each contributing to his diverse expertise.

When not innovating at Deep Render, Chri dives into life-extension technology and survival tactics for zombie uprisings —a testament to his passion for strategy and perhaps a touch too much time spent on Reddit.

Clare has a degree in Theology from the University of Cambridge. She started her career in management consulting, then spent two years in private equity before joining Deep Render. 

In her spare time, she enjoys choral singing, cooking, and reading.

Chris is an applied mathematician by training and a machine learning convert. During his PhD at McGill University, he studied numerical methods for nonlinear elliptic PDEs. Afterwards, he did a postdoc in ML focusing on density estimation, and adversarial robustness. 

Chris is an avid bird watcher; in his free time, he’s often found chasing rare warblers about town.

Sebastjan has completed a DPhil in Mathematics at the University of Oxford, where he studied higher dimensional geometric shapes that play a role in string theory. 

In his free time, he likes to generate pseudorandom notes on a guitar or piano (he refers to it as “improvising”) and play volleyball.

Lewis holds a BSc in Criminology with a specialisation in Criminal Psychology. After giving up becoming a mad criminal, Lewis now has nine years of experience working in talent. Before Deep Render, he was helping grow tech-focused businesses across numerous sectors. 

In his free time, you can find him playing chess, watching sport and most recently climbing mountains.

Russell has been working in the IP business for over 23 years, holding senior positions in engineering, product management and business development. His main areas of focus are video processing, video codecs, ML and NPU product development, corporate strategy and some experience in 5G L1 PHY.

During his free time, Russell enjoys carpentry and target archery.

Formerly a postdoc in applied mathematics at the University of Cambridge, Christian worked on generative models in computer vision, deep learning with mathematical guarantees and methods for large-scale medical imaging. 

Since joining Deep Render in 2020, he has been a part of the research team.

Alex holds a physics degree from UCL and a computing masters from Imperial College London, after which he worked for two years at one of the largest telcos in Hong Kong. 

Alex enjoys playing the piano and can play all the classics from memory. If you leave Alex on your machine unattended, he will install Tmux.

Jan hails from Sweden and graduated from Imperial College with a degree in Civil Engineering, and finished his Masters at UC Berkeley. 

In his spare time, Jan enjoys cooking, travelling, practising music and photography.

Alex holds an MEng in Machine Learning from Imperial College London. Before university, he was competing in Mathematical Olympiads (e.g. the IMO). 

When he is not training artificial neural networks, he is training his neurons how to juggle, kitesurf or play musical instruments.  

Saif graduated from the University of Sheffield with a first-class degree in Computer Science. He strongly dislikes Microsoft Windows, despite using it every day. 

In his free time, you will find him trying to automate himself out of the world, or playing OpenTTD.

Bilal completed his PhD in applied mathematics at McGill University, where he focused on building numerical methods to solve nonlinear elliptic PDEs. He spent the following 3 years in the video game industry, indulging his affinity for geometry (and video games!). 

When he’s not in front of a computer, you can find him in the kitchen trying out new recipes, or running around town trying not to roll his ankle.

Yuxin holds a PhD degree in computer science from Aalto University. Her research interests are computer vision and deep learning. In her free time, Yuxin is a big fan of Tetris 99. 

Allie holds a BA in Classical Studies from Victoria University of Wellington. 

Originally from Aotearoa New Zealand, Allie has lived in London for just over a year, and in her free time can be found running round in circles on the athletics track, or lost on a countryside trail. 

Before Deep Render, Ismail was at Meta building applications for AR/VR. He studied computer vision at Imperial College London and has spent time as a semiconductor analyst at an investment research firm. 

In his free time, Ismail enjoys tinkering with generative AI, reading about macroeconomics, and watching Arsenal play the beautiful game.

Hamza completed his DPhil in applied mathematics at the University of Oxford before converting to machine learning research for a Heilbronn Fellowship at the University of Bristol. 

He attempts in vain to maintain an unhealthily large number of hobbies but is most at home in the kitchen, on an ultimate [frisbee] pitch or at a bike workshop stand.

Alex has a BSE in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania and an MPhil in Machine Learning from Cambridge, where she wrote her thesis on multi-agent reinforcement learning for robotics. 

When she's not thinking about robots and AI, Alex loves rock climbing, backpacking and travelling. 

Ed holds an MSci in physics from Bristol University and spends most of his spare time training open-source language models and curating patent-focused datasets. 

Ed is an experienced European and UK patent attorney, and a qualified solicitor but one day hopes to use his language models to automate himself out of a job.

Karlo holds a BSc in Mathematics and a MSc in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Zagreb. 

In his free time he enjoys reading, board games, and various different sports. 

Lucas holds a degree in statistics, economics and philosophy from the University of Toronto and MSc in mathematics from McGill University. 

Before Deep Render, he worked as an economic consultant, and, in his spare time, he can be found reading about ancient history or going on long outdoor treks. 

Aaron received a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of British Columbia, an M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics from University of Toronto and a B.Sc. in Mathematics and Statistics from McMaster University. 

You're most likely to find them on a climbing wall or enjoying London's vegan food.

Oliver holds a degree in Mathematics and a Masters in Systems Biology, both from the University of Cambridge. 

In his spare time, Oliver enjoys reading and travelling the world. 

Evan holds a BSc in Computer Science from Warwick and an MSc in Advanced™ Computer Science from Oxford. 

Hiker, language-learner, and artist, Evan spends his weekends wandering the woods in a fugue state.

Seb graduated from Cambridge with an MSc in Physics. 

In his spare time, Seb enjoys cycling and playing football.

Ethan studied EEE and Computer Science at the University of Strathclyde, where he interned within the CESIP research group as an assistant conducting feasibility studies in medical imaging algorithms. On graduating, he worked as a KTP associate in collaboration with Cardiff University and Virturi to develop a proprietary text-to-video avatar using generative AI. Following this Ethan entered into industry within cutting edge tech-startups contributing to develop both the worlds first live 3D video streaming platform and neural video codec. 

In his spare time Ethan will be tweaking his long awaited debut album or getting his ego bruised falling on various gym mats.

Ciarán holds a Bachelor's in Theoretical Physics and a Master's in High-Performance Computing, both from Trinity College Dublin. 

In his free time, Ciarán finds novel applications for Vim bindings. He sucks at first person-shooters.

Jonathan holds a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Imperial College London and has a background in accelerating graphics workloads on mobile GPUs. 

In his free time, Jon likes to create mash-ups of songs that were never destined to go together and, left unsupervised, he will cook a gourmet dish for you in his microwave. 

Conner studied Computer Science and Maths at University - after realising he didn't want to build the ground-breaking compression technology itself, he chose to make the glamorous switch to technology recruitment to help attract and retain the people who do change the world. 

In his spare time, Conner is usually lecturing you on the best restaurants in London, on the phone or moaning about his beloved Tottenham Hotspur.

On the edge of research and product development. 

Ruslan graduated from the National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics (ITMO University) in St. Petersburg. 

Prior to joining Deep Render, he was part of the Huawei Moscow Research Group working on standardisation of VCC/H.266. He also developed transcoding and streaming solutions for Russian OTT company and Danish streaming platform TwentyThree. 

James studied mathematics at University College London. He has experience writing high performance code targeting CPU/FPGA across the defence sector. 

In his free time he enjoys reading and going to the gym, preparing to carry his growing pile of unread books. 

Chris has a bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Surrey University and a master's degree in Mathematics for Applications from RHUL. 

He has worked in several industries including video games, film VFX, VR and video analytics with a focus on software performance and optimisations. 

Chris spends his free time with his family and walking his dog, a Siberian Husky. He enjoys hiking and cooking, especially a Sunday roast. Recently, he's taken up butchery and squash.
